VINEXPO 2007: The Global Business Forum

Everybody will be there
(Drinks Media Wire). Vinexpo 2007 is already sold out (more than 40,000 sq. m of stands) and by January the list of exhibitors will be closed. The consistently high number of applications has confirmed the producing countries’ interest in Vinexpo as the leading international wine and spirits exhibition. All of the major regions in the world will be represented by individual companies and some national pavilions (Italy, Spain, United States, Chile, Argentina, etc.). As is the case every year, new countries apply to be direct exhibitors, one of which is Slovakia.

Vinexpo Studies
Vinexpo and the IWSR have launched their study on the current trends of the world wine and spirits markets and outlook to 2010. The study will be unveiled in Paris and also be presented in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Russia, the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Germany, the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea.

A second Vinexpo study has been carried out by BVA in several countries (France, the United States, Japan, Belgium and the United Kingdom) entitled “Wine and spirits and 20 to 25 year-olds”. Young people have a new approach to traditional products. The results will be presented worldwide in March.

New at Vinexpo
The “Club du Lac”, a new area set aside for the largest companies, has already achieved its objective. There will be 16 exhibitors. The biggest names will all be there: Baron Philippe de Rothschild (France), Concha Y Toro (Chile), Constellation (USA), Taittinger (France), etc. They will be able to entertain their customers in air-conditioned pavilions with private gardens and patios overlooking the lake.

The “Restaurants des Jardins” will replace the restaurants that were formerly located on the lakeside, in the specially landscaped area that used to accommodate the Club des Marques. The Brasseries du Jardin remain in the same place and will be part of this new environment.

Marketers - Vinexpo breaks new ground with the creation of a new section of the exhibition dedicated to the marketing of wine and spirits. Marketers follows in the footsteps of the section that opened in 2005, where exhibitors specialised in the arts of the table and wine-related objects.
The first exhibitors have signed up, companies specialising in publishing, packaging, furniture, marketing will be there in June.

This new section of Vinexpo provides an extra offering for visitors (wine retailers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, superstore wine and spirits department supervisors, wholesalers, distributors, importers, etc.) as well as for exhibitors’ sales and marketing managers.

Marketers offers a conference programme over the 5 days of the exhibition. Subjects specific to Marketers will be covered, such as wine and spirits sales in the restaurant business, wine and spirits sales in wine shops and retailers, wine and spirits sales in super- and hypermarkets.
