Champagne Louis Roederer

The Champagne Louis Roederer was funded in 1776. It has belonged to the same family since 1819, but the name Louis Roederer only appeared in 1833.
Different sorts of champagnes are produced: Brut Premier, Brut Millesime, Brut Rose, Blanc de Blancs and Cristal. The production is about 3 million bottles by year.

The domain extends over 214 hectares and includes 3 main lands: Montagne de Reims, Vallee de la Marne and Cote des Blancs.

The champagnes are elaborated from different terroirs, which gives to them very rich flavours. Louis Roederer has the most complete variety of champagnes.

The Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Premier is realised with 3 grape varieties: Pinot Noir (50%), Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (20%).

The Champagne Louis Roederer is known all around the world thanks to Louis Roederer who understood the importance of the international market. In 1876, Tsar Alexandre 2nd asked a special vintage for himself, and wanted to be served in crystal bottles: it was the beginning of Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal. The company has been the official Tsar’s supplier for many years until the Russian Revolution in 1917.
