History: Seventy years after Clarence Dillon's arrival in Bordeaux, his great-grandson, Prince Robert de Luxembourg, began writing a new chapter of the Dillon family's history by establishing a négociant firm he named Clarence Dillon Wines. This firm produces, sells, and promotes the first premium wine brand in Bordeaux: Clarendelle. The brand is named in honour of the first member of the Dillon family to come to Bordeaux, and remains faithful to the tradition of quality this great man instilled. In creating Clarendelle, the winemaking teams from Domaine Clarence Dillon and Clarence Dillon Wines sought to exemplify the best of Bordeaux's variousterroirs as well as the region’s centuries-old expertise.
The first premium wine brand in Bordeaux:
Expertise: The wine is blended in close conjunction with the winemaking team from Domaine Clarence Dillon: Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion.
Origin of the wines: Our wines are selected from the most prestigious regions in Bordeaux - Clarendelle Rouge: the Saint-Emilion, Médoc, and Pessac-Léognan regions, including wines from the Dillon estates - Clarendelle Blanc: the Graves and Bordeaux regions
Ageing: The wines are aged in our cellars for several years and sold when fully ready to drink. They correspond in every way to our high standards.
Style: Clarendelle is a very complex, round, elegant wine that goes perfectly with fine cuisine or simply on its own with friends.
Recognised excellence: The brand's high standards are regularly acknowledged by international experts at wine competitions - 2005 Clarendelle Red : bronze medal at the International Wine Competition - 2009 Clarendelle White : Vinalies gold medal in 2011, a bronze medal from Decanter, and a Commended Medal from the International Wine Competition - 2003 Amberwine: Gold Medal at the 2010 Vinalies Internationales, silver medal at the 2010 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, and a Commended Medal at the 2010 Decanter World Wine Awards.
