Château Borie Neuve - Languedoc - France
Situated at the limit of the Mediterranean climate and the ocean climate on the Balcons de L’Aude, where the view stretches from the Cevennes to the snow-capped Pyrenees, the vines on the slopes find all their richness in the clay-limestone soils, sandy and dry, blown by the ‘cers’ and the sea breeze, wafting in the aromas of the scrubland, thyme, lavender and rosemary which surround. Low winter rainfall and little water reserves in summer ‘stress’ the vine which in turn produces quality grapes. The Château was, until the Revolution the property of the Marquis de Badens, before becoming three generations ago, the property of the Combeléran family in 1928. Thierry took over in 1994 and modified the winemaking structures establishing new plantations and equipping the cellar.
